I love everything about this grill. It’s built well, it cooks well, and the Bluetooth features allow me to get things done and stay informed while steaks are cookin’!!!

    Delicious smoked meats

The meats we’ve smoked so far have been very tasty. Friends told us that once you get a Traeger you’ll never go back. They were right. We smoked a London broil recently and it was the best London broil we’ve ever had. The WiFi connectivity is great. Very handy.

    Excellent in every way

Very happy with this smoker. I did have difficulty connecting WiFi, but tech support was helpful. They had me re-set it, which was necessary. At some point, I may modify it with larger wheels. Very heavy and difficult to pull over grass.

    It can REALLY overheat

Overall I’m loving this new smoker after two cooks. The app is great, and the product build quality and ease of use are fantastic. On my second cook however I’ve seen that this thing can REALLY overheat. I’m using a Traeger recipe so I know I’m not opening the door too much (it has you wrap the brisket in foil at 160° internal). I downloaded the latest firmware when it was initially assembled. But I’m getting temps into 460° when the thermostat is set to 225°. The Traeger held temperature well for the first several hours of the cook but now I’m worried about an expensive hunk of meat not cooking correctly. The support section of the app doesn’t offer any clues other than keeping the door closed.

    My favorite smoker by far

Great for grilling or smoking. I have owned a variety of grills and smokers but this is my favorite. I highly recommend this unit. One problem… make sure your WiFi is compatible with wifire. You lose out on a lot of features if your WiFi isn’t the 2.5. But still the most user friendly unit I have used and creates some of the best flavor. I have already smoked brisket over night and only added pellets once. Great for long cooks.Maintenance is a big part of this unit also but any pellet grill is.

    Game changer

What an amazing smoker. It doesn’t replace a gas or charcoal grill, but it opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Tue ribs I made the other day were facemeltingly good. Highly recommend meat church’s YT channel for recipes and techniques. The wifi control and trafer app are way more awesome than I thought they were going to be. My only criticism is that the it doesn’t come with a folddown shelf on the front.

    Worth the price!

Easy to assemble, wifi was simple to hook up and we were able tostart using it immediately after the seasoning was completed. We have had it for a little over a month and have made brisket, ribs, steaks, chickens, fish and we baked zucchini bread as well as grilled vegetables. All of them were amazing. I have recommended a Traeger to all of my friends and family and would bet they would feel the same way. The temperature control is great, the fan circulation helps with convection and the app works very well to manage everything. 10/10 would recommend.

    Love my Traeger!

If you’re just starting to get into BBQ or you’re a seasoned pro, stop searching and jump in to the world of Traeger. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed. This grill is dummy proof. So easy to use. Easy cleanup. The app is simple and lets you monitor everything remotely. Endless recipes online at your fingertips. This model can fit several racks of ribs or a dozen chicken thighs/breasts. If you’re regular grilling for 1-3 families, this size is plenty.

Great smoker, Needs additional parts to grill

Everything arrived undamaged and I was able to put the thing together myself without any problems. The app setup on my Android phone and iPod without any problems. As a smoker it works great. Temps were maintained and I really like being able to monitor everything important on the app along with the alerts it sends. For grilling the standard grates don’t work. The internal temp of 500F and the small mass of the grates really can’t sear anything. Adding a set of GrillGrates solves this problem, but Traeger really should have included a heavier set of grates if they are advertising that you can grill on the thing.

    Worth every penny

I owned a pit boss of similar size for years because I didn’t want to spend twice the money. The pit boss is now waiting on a trip to the dump since it has broken past the point of repair. This traeger is fantastic. The quality stands out immediately. Assembly is fast and simple. Structurally it is far superior. The design and layout is way better. Ignition, temp control, and shutdown is easier and better. The built in probe is a game changer. I haven’t even started using the Wifire since my signal strength isn’t great in the backyard and I’m still giving it 5/5. Everything about this machine is fantastic. If you’ve ever had an augur jam and spent hours ripping it apart on a different pellet grill, the reverse function will save your sanity. 22 more degrees for this weekends pulled pork.

    Stupid simple, nearly perfect smoke

The only thing I would complain about is the pellet sensor should be included standard. Turns out that these grills do start with electricity but the heat is generated by the pellets, not electricity. These thing are really pellet heaters but instead of burning paper pellets they burn tasty food grade wood pellets. If you like to smoke food, you can’t go wrong with this buy. If you don’t cook out a lot or smoke lots of food, do not buy this! You will just have a big rusted piece of junk pretty quick and you will be in here writing nasty notes about Traeger. It is one of those things that only runs because it is used regularly. Let it sit and it won’t last long. Kind of like an airplane, just not as noisy.

    READ BEFORE BUYING

Update: I was partially incorrect. The controller temp is typically 25-40 degrees cooler than what the ambient temperature actually reads (I purchased a third party probe). So as long as you increase the temp by that amount to make up for it, it does maintain that temp really well. I updated my review to four starts. It does have some design short comings still. And it would be nice for the controller to just work properly.RESEARCH AND GOOGLE TRAEGER PRO 575 BEFORE BUYINGThis grill cannot maintain low temperatures. You want to use this thing for “low and slow” cooks. When you set it to low temps (below 300 in my experience), it rockets to temperatures much higher than you set the controller to. See pic. The thing doesn’t get below 220 when you set it at 165.Each support person will tell you something different “it’s the firmware version”, “it’s the controller”. The steps to manually update firmware they send you do not work. You can’t pull an update, you have to wait for it to get pushed. Traeger shipped me a new controller and it made no difference. The thermocoupler (heat probe) location is the worst location you can put it. You’ll have a hard time not banging into it when putting the bottom grill grate in and out.The hopper clean out should have at least been on the side of the box, not on the back. Good luck fitting a 5 gallon bucket (like they recommend to use for pellets) behind that. You’re going to spill them all overIt’s unfortunate it’s littered with little issues, because it seems to be built really well. The shipping weight was extremely heavy. You’ll also find plenty of peeling paint quality control issues over the web and a lot of issues with wireless and connectivity issues last year.I’d wished I’d gotten something else. I’d look at a model that isn’t this one or a different manufacturer if I were you.

    Nice, but not impressive

Once assembled, the grill seems to be decent quality. Im not super impressed, if I did it again, I would try a different brand. I dont feel like it justifies the premium price. I really cant get it to smoke much at all. We use it mostly as a grill, less as a smoker.

Easy to use with great results, but not without some maintenance cleaning issues!

The Traeger Pro Series 575 Gen II Grill & Smoker is a high quality grill, easy to use with great results every time! Only negatives are 1) It needs a lifting handle on both ends of the grill. This one does not have one on the wheel end, like my other Traeger had. This grill is quite heavy and having a handle on both ends makes it easy to maneuver and handle. 2) The steel drip tray needs a better design to guide the grease drippings directly into the external spout that the drip bucket hangs on. The steel drip tray on this Pro Series 575 deposits grease falling into a channel from front to back inside the grill with very little of the drippings going into the spout exiting the grill that the drip bucket hangs on. This creates high maintenance mess inside the grill making it harder to clean. My previous Traeger had a drip channel integral with the steel drip tray that fitted right into the spout exiting the grill and into the drip bucket. No drippings accumulating inside the grill. Traeger should redesign the drip trays on the Pro Series 575 Gen II Grill and others to include an integral channel that guides grease directly into the spout that the drip bucket hangs on and send this redesigned steel drip tray to all of us loyal Traeger Grill users.

    Easy smoking

I appreciate how easy it is to smoke with this device. Built in thermometer that you can connect to via the wifi on their easy to use app. What’s not to love? Only significant criticism is filling the hopper to the line lasts only 7 hrs worth of smoking. Almost a good overnight smoker but falls just short. Also, moving it to another wifi can be problematic. I needed to uninstall the app, remove the smoker from the app after reinstalling and then flush the wifi data on the smoker to get it to connect. Luckily I’m good at diagnosing issues. It would have been nice to have two data slots for wifi but a small thing.

    Smokin all day

This is my 3rd smoker. Been trying to find a good perfect size one without breaking the bank. I mean this is still expensive but definitely the quality and service is excellent. I received mine with the controller board area slightly cracked. And traegar replaced it quickly. They packaged this really well. If you have dents its definitely from the shipping company. Its heavy and requires two people.I been using this as a oven and smoker. The temps vary around 10 degrees. So its excellent. Smoked salmon, ribs and tri tips so far and no issues. Perfect taste. Pellets does get expensive. I was able to get costco traegar pellets and this should save some cost on pellets.Only concern is time. Always allocate time to prep and clean lol.

Very happy with the Traeger. Used it for this past season and love it compared to my old charcoal grills. I am new to smoking meat and this has made it simple and the tastes are much better than expected. Holds temperature well for being thin metal. Hope it lasts me a couple decades.

    This Traeger rocks

This traeger is perfect for a family of 4 or less. The surface area is just right for cooking. The WiFi is awesome, but make sure your signal is strong. It cooks evenly and the food is great. The app for the WiFi models is also great as there are a ton of features that can be used. I would highly recommend this specific model.

Didn’t know how much I needed this

I’m not new to smoking food(almost said meat, NOT TODAY) Was using a Walmart brand and I worked good for about a year but then died. Get what you pay for. The main reason I got a traeger was that you can buy all the parts to fix it and I see that as a great selling point. The build seems very sturdy. I use it about every day for both grilling and smoking. Sure there are cheaper but when it comes down to eating the wife’s cooking or knowing that there is no poison in the food, I need something reliable. Lol

Expensive, but you will turn out some great food.

Bought this Black Friday/Cyber Monday when they were $100 off. Traeger never seems to have discounts and they nickel and dime you for everything… $60 cover and a $60 front shelf that really should be included for the price. I also feel like the pellet sensor should be included as I’ve run out of pellets twice in a month of use. I’m not sure how people get an all night run without emptying the hopper. Tonight I went thru about 2/3 of a hopper cooking ribs at 250 for 3 hrs.The WiFi feature is great, but the antenna for the WiFi is horrible. I have to move the grill in front of the sliding glass door to connect even though it’s less than 25 ft from my router. Phones and laptops have no trouble. It did seem to get better once the initial software was upgraded. The bottom line is the food is phenomenal.

Can’t Believe I Waited So Long

Have had this grill 1 month. Assembly was easy but requires 2 people. It is a breeze to take apart and clean. I try to clean it after every other cooking. The 575 with WIFI allows you to start the ignition process then go back to doing whatever you were doing. The smoke is subtle but man does it flavor the food. It is not the smoke but the smoke vapor that seasons the food. I have cooked beef, pork, chicken and veggies. They all turned out wonderfully. I am an old charcoal smoker but now I am a pellet convert. A word to the wise. Do not try to save money by using pellet stove pellets. They do not work. The pellets are not consistent and can’t be controlled. I thought I was going to burn down the whole damned neighborhood. Spring for the good pellets. Otherwise you risk a runaway.

    Best filet ever!!!

I never cook or grill or anything but this was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. Better than all the five star restaurants I regularly go to. Followed the Traeger app recipe for filet mignon and it was the most incredible one I’ve ever had! Unbelievable and so easy. Can’t wait to do it again and other recipes to. Extremely heavy and I paid for it to be put together but the guy was a total jerk. Very rude. But it was worth the money to have him put it together because of how heavy it was. The other problem is that I still can’t get the Wi-Fi to hook up for the app. I need assistance on that.

    Wifi works great!

I bought this for myself as a house warming gift. I have had Treagers for years. Sold my old ones before moving across country. This new one with the WiFi is A- MAZING! Easy enough to put together for this 70 year old. The app is simple to use. Initial startup and burn in was quick and easy. I was prepping my first sirloins and was able to crank up the pre-heat temperature to the goal temp from my recliner, INSIDE THE HOUSE. After pulling the food off the grill I shut the grill down. . . Again, from inside the house. In the 4 days since I got this grill I have cooked sirloin steak, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken legs, bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, corn on the cob and a cookie sheet full of giant flakey honey biscuits. I love my Treager. Get ya one.

The best grill I have had so far

I live in a condo on the 8th floor in a building in Edgewater, NJ. I cannot use any gas or charcoal style grills. So I immediately said – Taeger! I have friends that have them and everyone loves it. I got the 575 with WiFire so I can monitor remotely. The delivery was great! They brought it up to my apartment. I was prepared to lug it up myself, but they insisted on bringing it up, so that was great.Installation was easy, and you really only need two people to drop it and lift it. But it was real easy to assemble. Setting up the WiFi, and the app was also very easy. I am going through the seasoning process now, and there were no issues with getting it to work first time. The auger is very quiet, and at first I thought it wasn’t working, but the pellets started shifting and I could hear the drop. The fan kicked in and it ignited! So far great experience.

    Almost too easy

I bought this to replace a 20+ year old Brinkman charcoal smoker. I wish I had done it sooner. Traeger is quality from start to eat. The packaging this arrives in is expertly designed to prevent damage. Make no mistake, some assembly required but the directions were great. Just take your time and do it right. Set up and first fire are also a snap if you follow the included instructions or watch the videos on YouTube. So far I’ve smoked salmon, cooked whole chickens, a ham, etc. With the included probe and wifi connection to the app, I was able to monitor everything remotely which was awesome as the weather has not been very cooperative.

    Fast assembly, very heavy

My husband was so happy to receive this for Father’s Day. He and our son put it together and put it out on the back porch. It was easy to put together. It was a 2 person job with moving it. Easy to use also. The only not so happy moment was when we found out the motor was rotating the wrong way for the wood pellets. He called the company and they sent a replacement motor right away. It was easy for him to install and he was using it the very next weekend!

Great introduction to smoking and slow cooking

The Traeger has been a great easy to use smoker, pellets are redily available and have gotten lots of recipe ideas from their App. The App is great, even though it crashes a lot (Android) but when I can be down visiting my parents and check the temp of the grill and meat as well as adjust the grill temp from across town, that is priceless. If I had to do over again I would have gone bigger and one with a supersmoke option as I find the smoke very light compared to what I was expecting and had to buy a seperate smoker tube to supplement.

A few disappointments but otherwise So far so good.

A little smaller than what I expected but still enough room to work with. A few damages despite shipped via Ceva: 1) shallow dent on top of barrel causing the hinged door corner to bend outward. 2) smoke stack cap bent slightly. 3) dented drip catch can. Don’t think it’s enough to compromise performance but for what I paid I’m a bit disappointed just looking at it. Set up went smoothly, as well as initial seasoning. Currently smoking my first batch of ribs and the recipe temp setting has been holding within a few degrees +/- of target. The Apple OS app works well but I think it’s a bit buggy since I occasionally get lost connection notifications despite having a super strong mesh network stretching well beyond the grill, and after I started a new recipe based cooking session I can’t go back to review steps after I reopen the app. Hoping the ribs turn out great! Smoked Thanksgiving turkey trial run coming up next!
